National Safe Work Month

National Safe Work Month starts today and Safety Makers will be using this time to help raise health and safety awareness in the community.

In 2015, 191 Australians died at work. While 96% of these deaths were men, it’s important to remember that their deaths affect the whole community – including families, co-workers and friends.

Every year, around 250 Australians die from work-related injuries and over 2000 Australians die from a work-related illness. These tragedies are all preventable

During National Safe Work Month, the Safety Makers team encourages you to consider your health and safety to make sure you return home safely to your family.

National Safe Work Month, held in October each year, aims to improve awareness of work health and safety, encourage discussion about safety at work and share positive workplace stories from across Australia.
