Workplace fatalities – the year so far
According to the latest figures released by SafeWork Australia, there have been 81 Australian workers killed at work so far in 2016.
The breakdown of industries where these workers fatalities have occurred may be surprising for some:

Transport, postal & warehousing 25
Construction 10
Mining 2
Arts & recreation services 5
Electricity, gas, water & waste services 4
Other services 3
Public administration & safety 1
Accommodation & food services 1
Health care & social assistance 2
Retail trade 1
